Kalfayan was born in Montreal, Canada, in 1986. He studied at Concordia University in Montreal. After graduating, he worked as a DJ for several years. Afterward, he turned his attention to the domain name market. It’s not hard to see why. The domain name industry saw $8 billion in transaction volumes in 2021, and there is plenty of potential for growth in the coming years. Every business needs a URL that appeals to potential customers. At the same time, the name needs to describe the business accurately. In recent years, new top-level domains (TLDs) such as .us, .io, and .xyz have also risen in popularity. Even so, many companies are still putting a premium on .com domain name endings. Kalfayan entered the market as a broker, buying domain names and selling them to interested buyers. He joined the Internet Commerce Association in 2016 and has been a member since then.
International Travel
Kalfayan has always been a quiet, private person. However, he wanted to see more of the world. In 2017 he moved from Canada to Dubai in the United Arab Emirates. Kalfayan set up K-Ventures FZE LLC in 2021 and still works as his company’s CEO. He works with clients worldwide and handles deals of varying types and sizes.
Kalfayan has visited his native Canada over the years for both business and personal reasons. He also enjoys traveling to countries all over the world regularly. Even so, Dubai has a special place in his heart, and it isn’t hard to see why. The small nation has excellent weather and gorgeous beaches. Plenty of amenities and entertainment opportunities exist for people of all ages and walks of life. Most people speak English, and Dubai doesn’t have an income tax. Kalfayan, an avid foodie, especially loves the great cuisine that Dubai offers. As the city is home to expats worldwide, it’s possible to find cuisine from almost any nation on Earth. Giving Back
Robert Kalfayan has built a very successful business and enjoys the fruits of his labors. At the same time, he’s always had a heart for the less fortunate in his home country and abroad. He has given generous donations to the Montreal Children’s Hospital. The hospital uses the money to provide needed medical care for poor children and conduct research. Recent statistics show that kids comprise a quarter of the world’s population. Unfortunately, only 10% of all research funding is dedicated to children’s medical research. Kalfayan also donates money to Water School, a project that provides clean water to poor families in Uganda. His funding helps to prevent disease. It also allows kids to go to school and encourages regional economic development.
Kalfayan also gives money to the Armenian Wounded Heroes Fund. He is proud that 100% of the organization’s funding goes towards providing needed medical care for Armenian veterans. Other charities he supports include The Million Reasons Run, which encourages physical exercise, and the Electronic Frontier Foundation. The EFF, as it is also known, is a non-profit dedicated to promoting free speech online, digital privacy, and online innovation. Kalfayan hopes that their work will enable aspiring entrepreneurs to use the internet to earn a good living, as he has been able to do for many years.
Hobbies
When Kalfayan isn’t traveling the world for business or fun, he enjoys spending time at home reading a good book. Economics is one of his favorite topics, but it’s not the only subject he enjoys reading. Kalfayan also enjoys playing chess with friends and is especially fond of eating out. He likes trying new cuisines and enjoying old favorites.
Robert Kalfayan has come a long way in a short period. His business has been very successful. He travels often, enjoying new experiences regularly. He has time to enjoy hobbies and free time while earning a good living. At the same time, he has always been humble and reserved. Never one to brag about his wealth, he enjoys giving to many worthy causes that are helping to make the world a better place. His dream is to one day look back on his life and say he has no regrets. He is optimistic that his successful business endeavors will help him continue to give to needy causes.
